The Humane Society conducts low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinics twice
weekly. The Clinic is held either at the Animal Shelter or
on our Mobile Spay/Neuter Van that we take into the villages
for those who cannot transport their animals to the Shelter.
The Leyland Convoy van was donated to us by WSPA and has helped
us make spaying and neutering available to everyone. In the period January 2000 to September 2002, more than 600 pets were spayed or neutered by the Humane Society, but even better things were to come! In March 2003, a grant was received from the Pegasus Foundation that enabled us to reduce the fee for spay/neuter even more which resulted in an immediate increase in demand. The Pegasus grant has now been exhausted but we have managed to keep the fee low at EC$50 (approximately US$18). Thousands of pets have been sterilized and the clinics continue to be fully booked
